Registration is necessary to access the courses and to ensure proper reporting of credits to the AIA once you complete a course.
Anyone can take any course on ArchitectCES. Credits will be reported directly to the AIA/CES records office for AIA members. Non-AIA members can print a certificate of completion for their records, to verify credits earned.
Personal information will remain personal. You can select a checkbox if you would like to be included on updates from ArchitectCES.com.
Log into ArchitectCES.com and click the “My Profile” tab and make the necessary changes. Click “submit changes” at the bottom of the page and the changes are automatically saved.
No, e-mail updates are free. They are intended to inform you of any changes to courses in which you are enrolled and to inform you of any changes to our site.
Once you have logged in, you can click on the “Enroll” tab to view the list of courses you have not taken. Select as few or as many courses to enroll in by checking the box next to the course title then click “Enroll” at the bottom of the page.
To start a course, click “Launch.” A new window will open with the course.
Some courses are available as a PDF on the Architect Magazine site. Go to www.architectmagazine.com and click on the “Resources” tab, then select “Continuing Education Center” to view the list of courses. After reading the PDF you can come back to ArchitectCES.com to complete the quiz.
For our online courses, the test will begin immediately after the course has ended. For courses that you download, you will have to log into ArchitectCES.com to enroll for the test.
Yes, the system will log you out if there is no activity for more than 5 minutes. While test is open it stores any information (Right/Wrong answers, Score, etc.) to the memory of the computer, not the database. The information is not recorded to the database until the user clicks the finish button at the end of the course test.
After you complete a course and test, if you have passed with an 80% or better, you can click “view” under Transcript on the “My courses” page in the “Completed Courses” section.
All credits are reported to the AIA/CES Records Office for AIA members. If you think you are missing a credit, please contact ArchitectCES and let us know.
Due to different requirements of each state board, we can currently only report to the AIA. Keep your Certificates of Completion on file for your state licensing requirements.
If a course qualifies for Health, Safety and Welfare credit you will know by reading the title of the course. It will say “1 LU/HSW hour” after the course title.
If a course qualifies for Sustainable Design (SD) credit you will know by reading the title of the course. It will say “1 LU/SD hour” after the course title.
The best way to open the courses is by using Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Mozilla 1.0 or higher, or Netscape 7.0 or higher and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
